We know the event of a disaster or evacuation can be very stressful, and that is one of the reasons Gulf Credit Union is well-equipped with a “Disaster Plan”. The purpose of this plan is to help ensure you receive minimal disruptions in the event of a disaster or evacuation.  This proactive plan is designed so we can return to “normal” operations in an efficient and timely manner.

This plan is also to help you know your money is safe and that you will be able to access your funds with minimal or no interruptions in the event of a disaster/ evacuation.

We will keep you updated on the situation at hand, by placing updates on our website (GECU.org) as information becomes available.

 Shared Branching is a FREE service that Gulf Credit Union has partnered  with Credit Union Service Centers to give you access to your GCU account at thousands of locations across the country.  There are 162 locations in the state of Texas.  This service will allow you to conduct transactions just as if you were at one of our Gulf Credit Union locations.

  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Loan Payments
  • Make transfers between accounts
  • Purchase money orders, travelers checks and official checks*
  • And more!

To take advantage of this service, when you enter a shared branch you only need to bring:

  • Your home credit union's name
  • Your account number
  • Valid government-issued photo identification, i.e., State Driver’s license, US Passport

*May not be available at all outlets and locations

  • 24/ 7 Call Anytime Teller (CAT) available in English and Espanol, 409.963.1432.
  • After we have been declared an emergency, we will operate from our Disaster Recovery Center (DRC).  While operating from the DRC, scheduled payments thru our FREE online bill payment system will be completed.
  • ACH Direct Deposits will continue to post as they are received.
