About Us
Gulf Credit Union has been privileged to serve our members since 1939 by providing a wide range of outstanding financial products and services.
Gulf Credit Union began in an office at the Gulf Oil company with just two employees. Today, we have grown to nearly 85 employees serving over 24,000 members. We have created strong relationships with our members for more than 80 years, and we consider it an honor to meet the needs of new members as well.
Persons who live, worship, work or attend school, businesses and other legal entities in Jefferson, Hardin, Orange, Chambers, Polk, Jasper, Liberty, Newton, Tyler counties and Bolivar Peninsula can become part of our growing financial family and enjoy benefits including free bill pay; e-statements; an instant-issue debit card at all locations; the ability to choose your own PIN; mobile banking; low interest loan rates; checking accounts with overdraft protection, and much more.
We also offer you convenient locations throughout Southeast Texas – in Beaumont, Bridge City, Groves, and Mid County – as well as mobile banking apps, shared branching, and online access so you can bank from virtually anywhere.
Because we are a credit union, our financial institution is owned by our members. You are treated as an individual because we understand no two people are alike nor have the same needs. That’s why we work hard to build lifelong relationships one experience at a time.
We invite you to visit our friendly and knowledgeable staff at the location nearest you, or contact us to learn more about how we can help meet your financial needs.
Our Vision
Be the trusted financial partner by delivering innovative solutions that provide value and convenience to our members.

What Is a Credit Union?
A credit union is a member-owned financial cooperative, owned, and democratically controlled by its members and operated for the purpose of promoting thrift, providing credit at competitive rates, and delivering other financial services to its members.
As a cooperative, a credit union is unique in the financial world. Credit unions exist to serve their members. Gulf Credit Union is dedicated to the philosophy of “People Helping People.” Rather than paying profits to stockholders, credit unions return earnings to members in the form of dividends and improved member services at rates frequently more favorable than those available at banks.
